The Carroll Shopper was an enterprise of Loudon Printing Company of Flora. This is the first issue, dated Feb. 15, 1956. It enjoyed a brief run before the business suffered a fire on June 21, 1956.

After the fire, Frank Loudon issued one last edition of the Carroll Shopper thanking all who helped. Family members preserved the front page in the burnt-edge decoupage style that was popular at the time.
